ID&T’s Tomorrowland 2011 – THE SENSATIONAL AFTER MOVIE

Just one month after the curtain fell on the 7th and biggest edition of Tomorrowland yet, festival organizers ID&T have unveiled what is, without a doubt, the most extraordinary, mind-blowing and evocative piece of after movie footage you're likely to have set your eyes on.
Featuring the very best moments of what surely is now a contender for the 'greatest festival on earth,' and capturing so perfectly what the 3-day electronic extravaganza is all about, this 14 minute audio-visual masterpiece revels the 'essence of Tomorrowland' in all its glory and is an assault on the senses like no other.
Describing it would be pointless as no words do it justice. All we can say is that if you didn't get the chance to partake in the ridiculous festivities of this summer, one watch of this over and you'll be blocked the 27th-29th of July 2012 without hesitation. And if you think this year looks good, you can be absolutely certain that next year will be bigger and better in every way imaginable... that's just what ID&T do.
So kick back, put your feet up and see for yourselves. You will not be disappointed. It truly is spectacular!

Cheers to 10 inches of rain and 70 mile per hour winds!

The Electric Dream

One of the hottest new names in the business, Mr. Mord Fustang has hit the scene hard with his new style of electro and "The Electric Dream" is just one of his many perfect examples. Soon to hit the stage for the first time on American soil at Atlantis in September, I can't wait to see what epicness he'll throw down live. But for now, enjoy this pack of dope remixes - Striker throws on an interesting, more progressive feel while the others take the dirty original to a whole 'nother level.

Good Thymes [Opiuo Remix]

Got a gem for you this morning; a classic song by one of the true musical legends of the past century, Ray Charles, that has been remixed by Australian DJ, Opiuo. Opiuo takes a massive leap on this one, attempting to alter a monumental pioneer's original piece, and boy did he ever pull it off. A proper remix to 'Good Thymes' that sees the transformation of a Blues masterpiece into a phat banger! Pull out the big speakers for this one and get your dancing shoes on, it's time to get funky w it.

Exclusive Interview with Bastille!

Up and coming DJ duo Bastille have been playing all around L.A. and they just happened to be good friends of the DxE staff... we'd thought we'd share them with the world! We got a little Q&A with them too - check these guys out!

D x E: How did you two meet and get started in the Electro scene?

Bastille: We met in 6th grade technically, but didn't become really close until senior year when we both started listening to EDM (that '07 Justice, Ratatat, m83 boom). From there we decided that we wanted to DJ and just made it happen.

D x E: What do you call your sound and who influenced it?

Bastille: Our sound is extremely varied, which has been somewhat of a problem. We were first known for our Jackson 5 and Cold as Ice remixes, which were both extremely different. We started as purely Electro DJs, but as we listened and practiced more our tastes matured into a great appreciation for House music in general. We're probably most know for our French/Disco House sound, but we've got a Progressive House and Dutch House track due for release within the next few months. We also released a Trash Electro EP about 9 months ago. I'm rambling, but the answer is really that we're all over the place.

D x E: Where do you see BASTILLE in 3 years?

Bastille: Taking over for Dimitri From Paris as the resident DJ at the Playboy Mansion.

D x E: Any advice to those starting down the DJ road?

Bastille: Take the time to really learn your craft, whether it's sampling, synthesizing, laptop or turntable mixing. People, whether they can put their finger on it or not, can definitely hear the difference between amateur and professional. You want to make sure that you sound like the latter.

Check out Bastille's newly released EP and the rest of their tracks on their soundcloud
Or you can download the entire EP right here --> Bastille - Bumpin EP.zip

But wait... there's more! Bastille is playing with Mr. White and gLAdiator at Central in Santa Monica TONIGHT, make sure to check it out if you're in the LA area!

I feel comfortable in saying that almost all of you have heard this track at least one point or another, the repetition of those magical three words are almost impossible to miss and forget. Was trying to figure out which of the remixes to post cuz there's just oh so many, but here's all of em that I have for your ears.

New Kaskade Mashup!

The man, the myth Ryan Raddon (Kaskade) got back to his usual habit of Music Mondays yesterday with his newest mashup of DBN & Matty Menck's "Remption" and his very own "Step One Two." Couldn't just keep the titles simple so of course when 'skade puts the two together you end up with "Step One For Redemtpion." Regardless, the two work magically together - just hope this is a new beginning for Music Mondays!
PS. Be sure to check out all the previous Monday releases and Kaskade's other tracks on his soundcloud

A Million Stars

Awesome new track released by the pioneer himself, Grammy-nominated Brian Wayne Transeau better known as BT. Vocals thrown on by Kirsty Hawkshaw who, in my opinion, is one of the best new female vocalists in the game. As is the usual with most BT tracks, remixes left and right from some pretty huge names. All in all, a well-produced and awesome track!
