First of all: let's agree to disagree. Every single person attending EDC Las Vegas this year will have a unique top 10. I made my top 10 in hopes that it makes your scheduling decisions somewhat easier. How did I hand pick 10 from the 100+ performers this year?

My criteria included: overall productions (or taste in their original music), DJ skills, recent festival sets, and perhaps the most important - why you should see them THIS year (they have a popular song at the moment, they rarely play EDC, etc.)

So let's get started!

10. R3HAB - Although many DJs could have taken this tenth and final spot, R3hab makes as strong a case as anybody. The last year has truly been the break out one for him, releasing original tracks and remixes played by all the biggest names out there. Recently, “Do It (Life in Color Anthem 2013)” and his remix of David Guetta’s “Play Hard” have been igniting crowds – add in his countless collabs with hot DJs like Ummet Ozcan and Bassjackers – and you have quite the library of songs to expect during his set. It’s safe to say, if you are reading this and attending EDC: you need R3hab.

9. MAT ZO - If this list was “Easy” to put together, I’d put Mat Zo and Porter Robinson together. But I had to pick. This year, I’m feeling Mat Zo’s style of music and I am thrilled to see him on the EDC lineup this year. His remix of Empire of the Sun’s “Alive” might have been the deciding factor for putting him in the top 10, while his original track “The Sky” still stands as one of those all-time great trance tunes. It will be interesting to see which Mat Zo shows up – while he favors melodic trance, it’s not unlikely to hear some real drops thrown into his set. For a pleasant surprise, make room for Mat Zo in your schedule.

8. KREWELLA - Completely honestly, I don’t know what to expect from these girls. I have yet to see them in action and have only heard a few live sets, which have varied from festival music to club house. But that’s exciting to me – the unexpected. And let’s look at the facts: “Alive” has been the most played and remixed song of the year thus far, and everyone... and I mean, EVERYONE (especially Nicky Romero with that hyped up track, "Legacy," which is yet to be released)... has been hyping them up as of late. Something epic better be going to go down during their set at EDC and I want to be there to see it.

7. FEDDE LE GRAND - I might be a little biased here – Fedde Le Grand is one of my favorite DJs of all time. While I always try to explore and broaden my taste in electronic music, so does Fedde. In the last few months, he has released two tracks that rival his own personal best: “Rockin’ N’ Rollin’” and his collaboration with Sultan & Ned Shepard, “No Good.” I’m as excited to groove with Fedde this weekend as much as any other DJ, as he has always exceeded incredibly high expectations. And everyone is at their very best for EDC.

6. SUB FOCUS - This should be a nice change of pace from the rest of my top 10. While house music and trance seems to be the talk of EDC Vegas 2013, Sub Focus stands out as a bass-heavy act you will want to check out - I hear the bass pod and the smaller stages will have not-so-small production this year. After seeing and going crazy at multiple shows of his, I can’t wait to see what Sub Focus brings to the EDC table. His track, “Endorphins,” has gotten attention from many DJs around the globe, and his recent BB1 essential mix was straight fire. Get down and dirty with Sub Focus this weekend, but don’t be surprised if he leaves you too exhausted to function.

5. DIRTY SOUTH - One of the all-time great festival performers, Dirty South will be back at EDC – this time with a whole new set of beautiful and uplifting tracks from his near perfect album, “Speed of Life.” Usually I’d say, “Wait until next time” to see such a repeat performer, but let’s face it: If I don’t hear Dirty South opening, “City of Dreams,” with 50,000 people singing along, EDC almost isn’t worth it.

4. DANNIC - A lot of attention has been given to Hardwell and Dyro, but completing the Revealed Recordings trio is the Dutch power house (music) DJ, Dannic. Not only does he have excellent taste in music (as heard in his monthly promo mixes), Dannic has two of the most exciting songs at the moment: “Clobber” and “Viper.” It’s been a long time since he has been on the west coast so I couldn’t be more thrilled to see him in action. I expect HUGE things from Dannic in the future. It starts now.

3. DOG BLOOD - You know this combination of Skrillex and Boys Noize is going to throw down extra hard, especially since Skrillex (usually an EDC staple) is missing from the lineup of solo performers. With only a few public appearances since releasing their first EP, Dog Blood will most definitely bring it all – trap, D&B, maybe even dubstep? For any hard-style fans, it’s simple: you MUST check them out or you may never have the chance again. Two superstar DJs for the price of one? Sign me up!

2. AUDIEN - He is only 21 years old, but Nate Rathburn (“Audien”) is already changing the progressive-trance game. His original mixes have been played by everyone from Tiesto to Armin Van Buuren – and even if you miss Audien (for god knows what reason), you can expect to hear his melodies throughout the weekend: including “Wayfarer” and his latest track on Anjunabeats, “Iris,” which premiered on Above and Beyond’s Group Therapy just two weeks ago... and don’t forget about his vocal track, “Leaving You,” which might be the catchiest song of the year. Personally, I have never seen Audien live... but after hearing his set from EDC Chicago, I’m circling his name on my must-see list.

1. TRITONAL - It’s official: I am a Tritonian. It’s hard not to be lately with Chad and Dave taking the world by storm – including their Tritonia podcasts and club appearances that transcend any particular genre of EDM. Their latest original track, “Bullet That Saved Me,” is one of those sing-and-dance-along songs that will undoubtedly be a moment to remember this EDC weekend. Also, if you haven’t already – download their recent mashup pack (my favorite being: “If I Lose Myself at Midnight”). On top of all that, Tritonal is going to be rocking the Kinetic Field this year!

~ What do you think? Tell me your top 10: @Elliotkschwartz

When Avicii first said that his new album would be heavily Folk influenced, I'm sure people were flabbergasted. Then came the promo mix, and things started to make a little sense. Now, after a Pete Tong Premiere, we finally have the first real taste. Wake Me Up is a huge departure from what he normally creates, but still has so much of his style woven in. Versions of this track have been floating around the internet for a while, but this finished product is just incredible. Strumming guitars dance along under Aloe Blacc's soulful, strong vocals, and the drop is signature Avicii.

There is no real word yet on the release date for the new album, but this track is set for a June 17 release in Europe. Check back here for more news on the US release for this and the new full length project. More details as they become available.

When young, Dutch producer Martin Garrix first released this track, it was simply Animals, a titled preview with no artists name attached to it. He had the idea of letting people all over the internet speculate who might have produced it to generate buzz. It worked. This track has been making huge waves ever since that initial preview, and in all of its glory, it is finally here. The hollowed out dutch whir is all the craze in music right now (think Atom or LRAD). Garrix takes this and really kicks it up a notch. He released the official music video Friday to showcase Animals, and the track is officially out on Beatport tomorrow. Check out the video, and make sure to grab Animals tomorrow. This track will soon be destroying a dance club near you.

Yes, you read that title correctly. This is brand new, and the first I am hearing about it is today. Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo has teamed up with the one and only Paul McCartney (as well as McCartney's electro partner in crime from the Firemen, Youth) to create a dark, hauntingly beautiful track that showcases McCartney's signature wail as it ebbs and flows through a barrage of piercing guitars, melodic piano and heavy, grungy electro. It's epic, it's anthemic, and pits two God's against each other who break forth in their own light, never overshadowing the other.

McCartney has always been interested in Electronic music, with many forays over the last 20 years, but to think that his first modern day Electronic colab would be with The Bloody Beetroots is outrageous. Fortunately, the pairing could not have worked out any better.

The track is only available for stream via Rolling Stone (click for the article and stream), or you could be sensible enough to just go straight to iTunes and buy it.

I apologize for the delay in getting this crazy EP out, but here it is. Far Too Loud, a DJ I brought to you a couple of weeks ago, has just released a new EP, Faster Than Light, and it is unmerciful. Trance meets Electro meets Drum and Bass meets the place where they all fear to tread. Cybertron, an unforgiving terminator of a track, is without a doubt my favorite on the EP and while the title track may be my least, make sure to do as I did and stick it out until the end. There you will find one of the best drops on the EP.

Make sure to grab this EP now on Beatport from No Tomorrow Recordings. Check out his Soundcloud as well for more bangin' tracks.

JayCeeOh's 2.0 remix of Estelle's "Do My Own Thing" started on VH1's DJ reality show - "Master of the Mix." It got instant attention with viewers... and now with listeners. Though the remix is straight trap, JayCeeOh gives the song a nice groove, which does the beautiful vocals justice. Having a tough time getting this one out of my head.

After debuting on the compilation The Sound of Garuda: Chapter 3, Tom Fall's remix of Ben Gold's classic hit 'Fall With Me' feat. The Glass Child and Juventa's remix of Ben's 'Where Life Takes Us' is out now on a special EP through Garuda Music.

"For the remixes of 'Fall With Me' and Where 'Life Takes Us' I chose two of my favourite producers right now," says Ben. "They both have delivered outstanding remixes that have been rocking my dance floors all across the globe."

Since working with the likes of Cosmic Gate, TyDi, Morgan Page & W&W, Finnish producer Tom Fall has now been given the ambitious task of remixing Ben's beautiful Beatport chart-topping hit 'Fall With Me.' Fall's version takes the classic Trance original to the darker progressive side, with squealing synths and hard-hitting percussion, while at the same time instilling The Glass Child's haunting vocals in such a way to allow them to remain the star.

19-year-old up-and-comer Juventa has reworked Ben's instrumental track 'Where Life Takes Us,' which was previously featured on Garuda: The Best of 2012 mixed by Craig Connelly. Since crafting his first remix at only 15-years-old, Juventa has quickly established a name for himself in the industry with his fresh take on the trance genre. Now on remix duty for the first time with Garuda, Juventa has stayed true to the popular original's piano breakdown, while adding in a new epic buildup and club-ready beat.

With both tracks already receiving support from Gareth Emery and Markus Schulz, these remixes are sure to become summer festival favorites among Trance and Progressive artists worldwide.

Pete Tong returns to Vegas two years after hosting a pioneering pool party residency in the city in 2011. That summer marked a tipping point for EDM in Las Vegas, it was embraced wholeheartedly with both hands and Sin City hasn’t looked back, opening more venues dedicated to dance music and even more artist residencies.

This June, Tong brings his world famous pool party back to Las Vegas for a special one-off edition in conjunction with Evolution Radio. After celebrating the launch of Evolution’s second dedicated FM station in March with a live stream of his Miami Music Week pool party, Tong will mark another milestone in his US radio career in Vegas, with the launch of a new weekly show ‘Evolution With Pete Tong’.

At MGM’s Wet Republic Tong will present a cross-section of talent from across the dance music spectrum. Joining him in Sin City will be Dirty Dutch house star and frequent Afrojack collaborator R3hab, Canadian techno pioneer Tiga and the fast-rising big-room specialist Michael Woods.

In addition to hosting the daily two hour ‘All Gone Pete Tong’ show heard on iHeartRadio’s Evolution platform and terrestrial stations Evolution 101.7 Boston and Evolution 93.5 Miami, Tong has partnered with Premiere Networks to develop the weekly one hour show ‘Evolution With Pete Tong’, which has already been picked up by almost 80 North American stations, including: KIIS-FM /Los Angeles, Calif; WKSC-FF/Chicago, Ill.; KYLD-FM/San Francisco, Calif.; KHKS-FM/Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas; WIHT-FM/Washington, D.C.; WIOQ-FM/Philadelphia, Pa.; WWPW-FM/Atlanta, Ga.; WXKS-FM/Boston, Mass.; WKQI-FM/Detroit, Mich.; KUBE-FM/Seattle, Wash.; and KZZP-FM/Phoenix, Ariz.

Truly a global ambassador for dance music, whether sharing the decks with superstar DJ icons or championing emerging talent, Tong’s contribution to, passion for and impact on the industry is unmatched. Last year he celebrated 20 years as a BBC Radio host and his thirst for discovering and breaking new talent remains undiminished.

In 2013 Tong’s Ibiza residency sees him take over the decks at Ibiza’s Ushuaia for ‘Le Grand Bazaar’, he played both weekends at Coachella in April, released an All Gone Pete Tong CD mix compilation with underground icon Skream, co-hosted the inaugural US event for IMS in LA as well as the sixth IMS Ibiza conference, and threw two All Gone Pete Tong pool parties during Miami Music Week.

Check out this hilarious video featuring producer, DJ and rapper/singer BORGORE with alternative comedian/musician Reggie Watts. Featured on Jash—a web-based comedy YouTube channel created by Michael Cera, Reggie Watts, Sarah Silverman and Tim & Eric—as part of Reggie Watts’ Social Music Experiment series, the video attempts to answer the question: Can Music Start a Party Anywhere?

With BORGORE in full party mode joined by his notorious onstage dancers, the answer is indeed YES! BORGORE parties with Reggie Watts across random Los Angeles locations in the weirdest places you can imagine: a supermarket, a laundromat, a carwash, a basketball court and a taco truck.

Hailing from Israel via London and now based in Los Angeles, producer, DJ and rapper/singer BORGORE this year is releasing a series of EPs on his own independent imprint Buygore Records. The first in the series, LEGEND EP, is out June 25 with the second release out in October. The EPs showcase BORGORE’s talents as a songwriter and producer and will launch further atop the upper echelon of bass and electronic music.

LEGEND features the addictive title track, and its tale of debauchery, with BORGORE on vocal duties. The EP also includes “That Lean” (http://goo.gl/ipHje) featuring producer Carnage and dance-music siren Dev; “Sonata In F Major” (http://bit.ly/141GvId); and “Kill Them All” featuring vocalist Adi Ulmansky. Earlier this year, BORGORE made impact with his main stage performance at Ultra Music Festival.

BORGORE is currently on his #TURNTLIFE spring tour, which includes high-profile performances at this year’s premier music festivals including Electric Daisy Carnival Chicago (where he performed on the main stage and headlined the bass stage), Orion Music + More, Free Press Summer Festival, Boonstock Music & Arts Festival and more to be announced soon.

His other recent releases include the Carnage & Borgore track “Incredible” out now on Spinnin Records, which hit #1 on Beatport and quickly became a staple this Miami season; the Turn Up EP on his own independent imprint Buygore Records; and his smash hit“Deception” featuring Cedric Gervais out now on Spinnin Records. Also available from BORGORE is the wildly popular Decisions EP featuring the title track with guest vocalist Miley Cyrus.

Just two months after ending ‘One Last Tour’ with Swedish House Mafia at Ultra Music Festival back in March, globally celebrated superstar-producer and DJ Axwell is back!

Entitled Center Of The Universe, this much anticipated release is Axwell’s ‘Remode’ of the unreleased original mix, first debuted by the Swede at Stereosonic Festival back in 2009. Eagerly awaited by his fans for over three and a half years, Center Of The Universe (Remode) is true testament to Axwell’s prowess and innovation as a producer and worthy proof (if proof be needed) that he’s still at the very top of his game.

After less than three weeks of waiting since its first play on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1, the melodic juggernaut of a record sees its official release on Axwell’s very own imprint, Axtone Records, and is available to purchase now, exclusively from BEATPORT.

The original version – which was recently debuted over the airwaves with Sirius XM in North America, Capital FM in the UK and countless national European stations last weekend – is now also being used as the official track for Carlsberg’s ‘Where Is The Party’ campaign. To take part in the incredible interactive #followthebeat video, head to www.where-is-the-party.com

For up-to-the-minute information and the latest news from Axwell, stay tuned to his official Facebook and Twitter pages today.
