ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL Announces Complete Phase 1 Line-Up with Additions!!

New Year’s weekend saw the much-anticipated Phase 1 Lineup of Ultra Music Festival’s Miami showdown make its way around the World Wide Web like wildfire after Avicii leaked the lineup online. If there was ever an excuse to slap ‘viral’ on an announcement then this was it! One week after the Internet frenzy, and the world’s premier electronic dance music festival can now confirm artists that will be performing throughout the 6-day/2-weekend marathon of sound, light and dance. Over the weekends of March 15-17 and March 22-24, Downtown Miami plays host to the event’s 15th year with an unparalleled bill of the best DJs, live acts and future talent this planet has to offer.

The world is already aware that this year’s edition of the iconic festival will mark the final curtain for Swedish House Mafia, who’ve chosen Ultra Music Festival as the ‘One Last Tour’ finale to end where it once began (Ultra Music Festival at Bicentennial Park in 2010).  Expect an unforgettable performance created specially for Ultra Music Festival by deadmau5, one of the industry’s most in-demand talents who returns to close out both Saturday nights.  Luminaries who have aided in shaping the movement make appearances across BOTH weekends include Tiësto, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Avicii as well as (in alphabetical order): Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Kaskade, Knife Party and Richie Hawtin. Of course, Ultra Music Festival wouldn’t be complete without the essential Carl Cox & Friends Arena, which has been announced in addition to Armin van Buuren’s (the world’s #1 DJ) A State Of Trance 600 Arena.  Mixmag—the world’s indispensible clubbing bible—will also slam into the sunshine with an area of their own and who can forget the #1 club in the world, Space Ibiza, bringing Phase 1 of Ultra’s 15th Anniversary to close with the return of their own Space Ibiza Arena.

It is not only the cosmic DJ talent that ensures Ultra Music Festival’s growth year after year, it’s also the LIVE elements that entice thousands of revelers to the Festival’s sun-kissed terrain.   This year, and again in alphabetical order, live performances includes: The Bloody Beetroots, Booka Shade, Boys Noize, Crystal Castles, Disclosure, DJ Fresh Live, Hot Chip, Major Lazer, Matt & Kim, Modestep, Rudimental, Thievery Corporation, and Yeasayer. All acts are confirmed to make appearances; some returning after more than a year’s absence and some making grand debuts, thus proving the forward-thinking and finger-on-the-pulse nature of Ultra’s festival organizers.  These lineups showcase Ultra’s ability to consistently deliver on talent, both fresh and established!

The complete Phase 1 line-up for the 15 Annual ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL is:

Building on the excitement is the newest piece of viral content for UMF TV, the video, created and directed by Final Kid’s Charly Friedrichs, director of the ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL experience film “CAN U FEEL IT.” Get ready for a no holds barred indulgence!

W&W Ready to “Lift Off” – New Single Out 12/3

W&W Lift Off

On December 3rd, Dutch production/DJ team W&W (AKA Ward van der Harst & Willem van Hanegem) will release their new single “Lift Off” through their Mainstage Music label.

“Lift Off” embodies what makes W&W such a special act. While “Lift Off” has classic trance influences and a sense of flow and journey, it quickly brings in punchier house elements that create a multidimensional sound.

W&W are the forerunners of the new sound that has come to shake things up. Fusing styles and mixing influences, their visionary productions have ever appealed to a wide and open-minded audience. Infectious, rebellious and highly energetic, their list of productions stretches far beyond the average discography of today’s young upstarts. From the depths of ‘Arena’, to the acid-rubbed ‘AK-47’, synth- driven ‘Alpha’, floor pounding ‘Shotgun’ and playful pre-album taste ‘Impact’, each of the tunes leaving the W&W studios is a sure-shot of dance floor thrill. Tipped by Armin van Buuren as ‘the best up-and-coming production duo out there’, it was a great honor to have their ‘Invasion’ voted as the official anthem to the “A State of Trance 550” world tour.

As the fields of dance industry stretched out in front of them, the guys embarked upon a new adventure in September 2011: ‘Impact’. The debut album of W&W has been 1,5 years in the making, pushing the boundaries of everything danceable. 2012 saw them navigate around the pigeonholes, through the all- shattering beat of ‘Moscow’, the weaponry of ‘Trigger’ (in collaboration with Marcel Woods) and now the telltale of ‘Lift Off!’. Inspired by releases on its own Mainstage Music label, W&W decided to kick off an official compilation series based on the label. ‘Mainstage Volume 1’, released in September 2012, brought the highlights of the label, of both past and future. As remixers, W&W’s rewires have proved equally as popular - most notably on Armin van Buuren’s ‘Rain’, classic ‘Delerium – Silence’ and those of Dash Berlin, Allure, Aly & Fila, Marcel Woods and Cosmic Gate, some charting the Beatport Top 10 for weeks.

Now a regular standing fixture in the trance enthusiasts listening schedule, W&W’s Mainstage radio show exports their diverse sound around the world every week. Mainstage is all about showcasing the freshest music and exposing new talent to the world. Broadcasting weekly on Sirius XM, Kiss FM (Ukraine), Dance Paradise Radio (Brazil) and many more stations. In and amongst the intriguing Mainstage ID feature, where every week they’ll be playing a track so hot-damn fresh-off-the- desk, it can’t even be named. Mainstage is also available as a podcast on iTunes and can be heard over HERE!

H-H-H-HARDWELLLLL

One of my favorite producers and 100% atop my list for this weekend, the 23 year old Dutchman has been producing and DJing since he was 13 and it shows in every way possible. First discovered by Tiesto, Hardwell's been absolutely killing the game with no shortage of original tracks, remixes, and bootlegs, including his ever famous bootleg of Steve Angello's "Be" and Robin S' "Show Me Love". This weekend will actually be his first time hitting the decks in the US and A, as he'll be hitting both East and West coast spots. It was actually pretty difficult deciding which tracks to post so here's a whole pack for your ears. See you Saturday 11 PM-12 AM at the Neon Garden, Mr. Van De Corput!

Oh and if you're skipping out on Vegas and will be in the LA area this weekend, Hardwell will be taking over the Avalon this Friday at Control alongside none other than Stefan Englom and Olle Corneér, better known as Dada Life. Sure to be one hell of a show, catch your tix here.

Cosmic Gate

Switching it up a lil bit, this weekend in Vegas also features some of the best trance artists from around the world, including the German born Cosmic Gate. The duo that brought us one of the all-time classics "Exploration Of Space," Claus Terhoeven (aka Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (DJ Bossi) always put on an epic show and yes, I know this dude named Tiesto is spinning at the same time but check out Cosmic from 12-1:15 AM at the Circuit Grounds, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Avicii UMF 2011

The mysterious force driving house music to uncharted territory did his dirtiest work last weekend in Miami. Although, I missed his sets at Ultra I was able to catch perhaps one of the most glorious shows of all time thrown down by my man, Avicii. @ Mansion night club on sunday night. After a full day of raging to Laidback Luke and Dada Life, among many others, I can't fathom a better nightcap to the weekend than popping bottles through this 3 hour set of pure gold. Words prove useless in attempting to depict the higher realm that Avicii reigned down from. So I stop here, still buzzing in a swoon of musical amazement. For those who were there, you know what I'm talking about...and for those who weren't, NEVER pass up a chance to see the swede.Avicii & Sebestien Drums - My Feelings For You [Original Mix]

4AM Wake Up Call

I know we're known as DxELECTRO, but I gotta say that one of the artists I'm mostly looking forward this weekend features some of the best trance tracks since the turn of the century. The self proclaimed "Future," Dash Berlin jumped up 5 spots up to number 15 in this year's DJ Mag Top 100 DJs. His world-wide recognized singles, such as Till The Sky Falls Down and Waiting, have a deep melodic feel but I've grown to love his "4AM" mixes of both his own original tracks and others, such as his Armin edit (download below), just a bit more. Give it a cha-, I mean trance, and I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised.
And here's a little something extra also...
