Germany based house duo, Plastik Funk released their new single 'Need Somebody' today. It's a fun party jam with a lot of Latin influences. The track has been supported by the the likes of Avicii and David Guetta.
Plastik Funk have been steadily gaining momentum through the summer with an epic performance at EDC London's afterparty at Ministry Of Sound. Check out the video below. They also have residencies at LA's Supperclub, Vegas' Body English and Lumen in Chicago. Along with all of this Rafael and Mikio have announced their international fall tour. If you like what you hear and see check out their tour dates here
Sirius XM already has the best weekly broadcast lineup around on their Electric Area channel, but starting this weekend things are going to get a whole lot crazier. They will be introducing 6 new shows from some of the absolute hottest DJs/groups right now. Carnage, Mat Zo, Quintino, Showtek, Borgore, and W&W will all be featured in their own new broadcasts, and if that lineup doesn't excite the senses, well then I would suggest checking for a pulse... This is in addition to tried and true weekly shows from people like Above & Beyond, Avicii, Carl Cox, Armin van Buuren and Dada Life (to name just a few).
Head over to Electric Area's site for a full broadcast list, schedule and artist list. You can also find out any other possible info needed to start the night (or morning) off right.
New Series Schedule from Sirius XM:

DJ superstar Avicii has just released the tracklist and collaborations for his upcoming full length release, "True." The lead single, "Wake Me Up" Feat. Aloe Blacc, has been making huge waves recently, and I am sure everyone is ready to hear more. Lead singer Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons has vocals on the album, as well as Adam Lambert. These two names are huge in the pop world right now, and will definitely lend themselves to the overall success of "True."
Pre-order "True" on iTunes now, or wait for the release September 17 via Universal Music.
1. Wake Me Up [feat. Aloe Blacc]
2. You Make Me [feat. Salem Al Fakir]
3. Hey Brother [feat. Dan Tyminski]
4. Addicted To You [feat. Mac Davis & Audra Mae]
5. Dear Boy
6. Liar Liar [feat. Blondfire]
7. Shame On Me
8. Lay Me Down [feat. Adam Lambert]
9. Hope There’s Someone [feat. Linnea Henriksson]
10. Heart Upon My Sleeve [feat. Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons]
11. Long Road To Hell [feat. Audra Mae]
When Avicii first said that his new album would be heavily Folk influenced, I'm sure people were flabbergasted. Then came the promo mix, and things started to make a little sense. Now, after a Pete Tong Premiere, we finally have the first real taste. Wake Me Up is a huge departure from what he normally creates, but still has so much of his style woven in. Versions of this track have been floating around the internet for a while, but this finished product is just incredible. Strumming guitars dance along under Aloe Blacc's soulful, strong vocals, and the drop is signature Avicii.
There is no real word yet on the release date for the new album, but this track is set for a June 17 release in Europe. Check back here for more news on the US release for this and the new full length project. More details as they become available.
It's not too often that Sunday night becomes one of the hottest nights to go out in Los Angeles. But when celebrating the birthdays of 3 of the biggest names in Hollywood, it can almost be guaranteed that all rules go out the window. Last night, Russian Rob, Igor Zag and Eli Wehbe -- owners of LA's newest hotspot Sound -- capped off a weekend full of celebrations by bringing in Australia's own Dragan Roganović, better known as Dirty South. The man himself came on just passed midnight as the work week had officially begun; no one in the entire venue even seemed to notice as the place erupted at the very sight of him taking the decks. Following up on the opening set, he slowly lulled the crowd with a tech/deep house opening couple of tracks before unleashing a perfect combination of Dirty South classics, new singles from his debut artist album Speed of Life and (what seemed like) a whole array of never before heard IDs, remixes and mashups. Everyone got to enjoy the familiar sounds of tracks such as "Walking Alone," "Devil's Work," and "Silvia," all the while bouncing and jumping around to remixes of tracks along the likes of "Nillionaire" by Alesso and "Alive," a DS and Thomas Gold collaboration. All in all, the Sound crew was able to turn any old 'Sunday bloody Sunday' until one of the best Sunday nights I've been witness to in quite sometime (not to mention that some familiar faces such as Avicii decided to join in on the party). Happy birthday to the big 3 from all of us here at DxE!
Right before Ultra kicks off, Avicii unleashes the official name of his track labeled "ID" which has been floating around the internet for some time now.
Here it is, and also check out the 2013 Ultra Music Festival's VA Album
It happens to the best of us. Last night, Tim Bergling (Avicii) tweeted that his computer was stolen with at least 8 unfinished tracks. As any producer knows the most tedious part about losing everything is re-pirating (**cough**) and re-installing all your VST's. Poor dude.
New Year’s weekend saw the much-anticipated Phase 1 Lineup of Ultra Music Festival’s Miami showdown make its way around the World Wide Web like wildfire after Avicii leaked the lineup online. If there was ever an excuse to slap ‘viral’ on an announcement then this was it! One week after the Internet frenzy, and the world’s premier electronic dance music festival can now confirm artists that will be performing throughout the 6-day/2-weekend marathon of sound, light and dance. Over the weekends of March 15-17 and March 22-24, Downtown Miami plays host to the event’s 15th year with an unparalleled bill of the best DJs, live acts and future talent this planet has to offer.
The world is already aware that this year’s edition of the iconic festival will mark the final curtain for Swedish House Mafia, who’ve chosen Ultra Music Festival as the ‘One Last Tour’ finale to end where it once began (Ultra Music Festival at Bicentennial Park in 2010). Expect an unforgettable performance created specially for Ultra Music Festival by deadmau5, one of the industry’s most in-demand talents who returns to close out both Saturday nights. Luminaries who have aided in shaping the movement make appearances across BOTH weekends include Tiësto, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Avicii as well as (in alphabetical order): Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Bassnectar, CalvinHarris, CarlCox, FatboySlim, Kaskade, KnifeParty and RichieHawtin. Of course, Ultra Music Festival wouldn’t be complete without the essential Carl Cox & Friends Arena, which has been announced in addition to Armin van Buuren’s (the world’s #1 DJ) A State Of Trance 600 Arena. Mixmag—the world’s indispensible clubbing bible—will also slam into the sunshine with an area of their own and who can forget the #1 club in the world, Space Ibiza, bringing Phase 1 of Ultra’s 15th Anniversary to close with the return of their own Space Ibiza Arena.
It is not only the cosmic DJ talent that ensures Ultra Music Festival’s growth year after year, it’s also the LIVE elements that entice thousands of revelers to the Festival’s sun-kissed terrain. This year, and again in alphabetical order, live performances includes: The Bloody Beetroots, BookaShade, BoysNoize, Crystal Castles, Disclosure, DJFresh Live, Hot Chip, Major Lazer, Matt & Kim, Modestep, Rudimental, Thievery Corporation, and Yeasayer. All acts are confirmed to make appearances; some returning after more than a year’s absence and some making grand debuts, thus proving the forward-thinking and finger-on-the-pulse nature of Ultra’s festival organizers. These lineups showcase Ultra’s ability to consistently deliver on talent, both fresh and established!
The complete Phase 1 line-up for the 15 Annual ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL is:
Above & Beyond
Armin Van Buuren
Swedish House Mafia
The Bloody Beetroots
DJ Fresh (Live)
Matt & Kim
A State Of Trance 600 Arena
Carl Cox and Friends Arena
With all this in mind, let’s not forget this is only Phase 1 of a complete line-up of what is surely to go down as one of ULTRA’s greatest line-ups ever! Building on the excitement is the newest piece of viral content for UMF TV, the video, created and directed by Final Kid’s Charly Friedrichs, director of the ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL experience film “CAN U FEEL IT.” Get ready for a no holds barred indulgence!
As the gates opened at 11 am sharp, and as the sun shone down on the 19th edition of Holland's 'jewel in the crown' festival, 60,000 lucky ticket holders made their way to the stunning location of Haarlemmermeer for what was to be a day no-one will ever forget.
Out went the Main Stage this year, and in came the Big Top instead! A tent so big that it housed in excess of 16,000 party people, not forgetting those that danced around the entire perimeter for the duration of the day! Avicii and Fedde Le Grand amongst others were just some of the names to rock the enormous indoor crowd, complete with state of the art lighting and pyrotechnics.
In addition, no stone was left unturned with regards to planning for the weather this year, especially considering the downfall of many 2012 festivals due to the rain! Extra concrete was laid to widen footpaths throughout the entire site, diminishing the need for anyone to traipse through mud and water. What's more, 12 of the 14 stages this year were indoors meaning that nobody needed stand in the rain when the heavens opened.
As Mysteryland prepares to spread its wings and export its magic into countries such as Chile, Denmark, Brazil, North America, Asia and Argentina, it's time now to reflect on what was without a doubt a very special day.
Take 5 minutes out of your day, sit back and relive.
Looks like Avicii has a new single that is sure to make major news on the North American radio waves. I anticipate this track to become a huge single this year. People have something to look forward too with Avicii's sold out show in Santa Monica just a week away!
UMF recently launched its new youtube channel called UMF TV. Episode 1 is short documentary staring 22 year old Tim Bergling, A.K.A Tim Berg, A.K.A Avicii throughout his first headlining set. The video also includes appearances from pop-legend Madonna, and takes viewers back stage with Avicii as he talks about his experience at Ultra Music Festival Miami 2012. Be sure to keep your eyes open for upcoming UMF TV Episodes and video exclusives.
“The Glastonbury of dance festivals, this bold, colourful and gigantic event packs more into one electrifying day than other, lesser dance events would dare explore in their lifetime.” (Virtual Festivals)

Done with finals, crazy weekend behind us can only mean it's the start of what's looking like another cold winter week here in la la land. Pack of new mix and mashes for your ears, a little blast from the past and of course the newest of the new as always -- just what the doctor ordered after all the originals we've put out this weekend. Here's to winter break officially starting, cheers!
Above is a clip of Avicii dropping his latest banger at DC's Super Glow. Apparently the song is a collaboration with bigtime up n comer Nicky Romero called 'Fuck School'. Definitely fit to be a night life anthem at festivals, clubs, and shows around the world -- it also doesn't hurt that it includes the forever recognizable lyrics of Justice's 'D.A.N.C.E!' I've found a rip of the track and we'll be sure to throw up the full release when it comes our way. Cheers!
What time is it?! Well other than being 8:25 (on the west coast, best coast at least), it's that time of the week for mashups again and this week's pack is just bursting with eargasms. The newest of new from Kaskade and his Music Mondays, a Tujamo bootleg that literally comes out of nowhere to rape your ears, and a killer mashup by two of the coolest dudes we have the pleasure of calling our friends, the new Hollywood experience takeover duo Sex Panther. Even though the week's just begun, the countdown till the weekend has already started. Enjoy amigos y amigas.
