Lately Ive been bumping a lot more trap music, and with tracks like these its no wonder why. ETC!ETC!, Brillz, and Mad Decent's Diplo have come together to produce a track inspired by the movie classic Ferris Buellers Day Off. The EP also includes "Swoop", a ETC!ETC! and Brillz original. Downloads Available Below.
With the Trap revolution in full force, it is extremely clear who has been leading the charge. Flosstradamus have been around for several years, but only recently are getting the recognition they deserve. Diplo, and his Mad Decent label, did us all a favor by picking these guys up (J2K and Autobot, AKA Flosstradamus), and with his explosive rise to prominence, Floss were given a clear path to blow up huge.
They have done just that.
Back in February, they dropped what was (in my mind) one of the most groundbreaking and revolutionary EPs the EDM world has ever seen, and it has really sculpted their current style. If you haven't checked out the Total Recall EP yet, you can (and must) get it here ( this is a link to the title track which was removed from the EP due to a failure in clearing the sample).
Ever since, they have been dropping mixes and tracks like crazy. Their most recent, UNDERGR☢UND ANTHEM, is absolutely insane. So much bass!! The track pulls from several different genres, ranging from 90's warehouse, to drum and bass, hip hop, and even a little pop infusion. It has been a long time since an artist has really been able to blend so many boundaries while still making music that just kills it every time.
If you like the track, make sure to grab it, as well as their new mixtape BANNED, off of which it was originally released. Both are available on their soundcloud page.
Enjoy. Your ears will need a bath after this filthy number.
With the explosion of Mad Decent and Sir Diplos creative/diverse productions of electronic, hip-hop, electro house, baile funk, dub step, and moombahton, the man who makes up half of Major Lazer has teamed up with the crazy white boys of Three Loco. For those who don't know, Three Loco consists of Dirt Nasty, the rapper who brought us "1980", Andy Milonakis, and Riff Raff. The squad has now released a video that samples the famous Farmers insurance slogan "We Are Farmers Bum Bum Bum Bum Bum Bum Bum". Just when you thought Diplo couldn't get any more filthy sick, he does something like this. Enjoy.........
So yesterday I posted a Le Castle Vania track that the producer gave out for free download. Well it just keeps getting better and better. With the influx of producers and DJs collaborating with Pop artists, there has been a considerable amount of dance music remixes that are being played in clubs and festivals all over. Artists like Usher have worked with Diplo and Swedish House Mafia on tracks that were produced to be electro bangers and have been remixed in the same norm. Ken Loi comes with this new remix of "Scream" that has a heavy bassline and a synth drop. Most importantly, its fo' FREE..
Dash Berlin has given Trance a new dimension in a time where Electro House rules the mainstream market. He is known for his mashups or "Dashups" as he likes to call them and does not disappoint in this one. He played this at EDC Las Vegas this year and for a Trance producer to remix a classic hip-hop anthem with soulful melodies and synths is a major risk. But Dash proves to be flawless as always. Grab this.
Since we are on the subject of risk-taking, here's another one by producers Alesia. I have heard many remixes, edits, bootlegs and mashups of Strobe and considering this is one of my favorite dance music tracks, I am fairly critical of most edits done on this. However, Alesia proves to be a worthy contender. Combining symphonic orchestral melodies with the original beat and then adding a slow but very heavy bassline to perfect the drop this is a MUST HAVE for your itunes.
Back from hiatus with fresh new bootlegs for you all. Sorry it's been a few weeks, hope everyone's had a great start to 2012. A little bit of old school mixed in with this pack, along with the newest mashup by our very own Skipper aka BlackBlueGold. Back with a vengeance, hope these get your week started right. Cheers.

There is a lot of chaos surrounding NYE in Los Angeles: Insomniac is slowly releasing plans for their WHITE WONDERLAND. From what our staff has gathered, they seem to have swiped BENNY BENASSI and DADA LIFE from a show that was supposed to take place at the Shrine and produced by Giant. Or maybe it was some sort of team-up... you never know what Insomniac has up their miraculously decorated sleeve. I'm sure it won't disappoint... by the way, a little birdie told us it is going to be a 2-day event and that the dress code is "all white, only white."
So might I make a suggestion? Check out this cool event happening in Pleasanton, CA - very close to San Francisco. I've been to the town before and I'm sure they don't know what's coming their way, as they are hosting what is apparently the largest electronic dance event in Nor Cal on New Years. So fuck it, I'm going. Now, wait 'til you hear this line-up: COSMIC GATE, SHOWTEK, SIDNEY SAMSON, DIPLO, WIPPENBERG, and SPACE ROCKERZ. And did I mention it's actually affordable for a memorable New Years?
Like many DJ hopefuls, Sticky K got his start producing music on a macbook in college. What started with a few garageband beats and mixing at house parties turned into something much greater after being signed to Switch's record label Dubsided in early 2009.
As a fellow UCSB alum, I've known him for years and I've had the extreme pleasure of losing my hearing to his music at the aforementioned house parties and most recently at the Harder Stage at Hard Haunted Mansion in 2010. In between those, Sticky K headlined a small event called Neon Noize in Santa Barbara that forever cemented my love of EDM.
With two EPs already under his belt, his Persian-style techno banger Prince of Persia released earlier this year and the frontal lobe-rupturing Separate Your Mind appearing on Dim Mak Records New Noise Vol. 1 last month, 2012 seems poised to be a big year for Sticky K. Continue past the jump for answers to some questions about his music and the EDM scene as a whole.
First let's talk about what you're working on. Any new or upcoming projects you want to talk to us about?
My next release will be on Mad Decent. It will be a single called Persian Algebra. It's a moombahton track, but as the title suggests, it has some Middle Eastern flavor! More detail on the release and previews are coming soon. [You can listen to the track on the September edition of Diplo's Blow Your Mind]
Another upcoming project to look out for is the new Major Lazer record. I co-produced one of the tracks with Diplo. Unlike my other work, this track is straight reggae.
You've mentioned before you've been working on a full-length release. Any updates on when we can expect it?
As far as full length goes, I'm actually going to be focused on releasing singles for the time being.
You recently tweeted about a collaboration you're working on with Dillon Francis, can we expect more gold along the lines of Persian Algebra?
We were too hungover to come up with something good, I still have those chords he came up with and I'm supposed to work on it but haven't come up with anything cool yet. Hopefully soon!
I've seen your music described as "donald duck basslines" and "laser synths," and of course there's the definite Persian Influence seen on your California EP and Prince of Persia. How would you best categorize your music?
I would best describe my music as a mix of hip-hop and house music. Obviously its dance music, but I like to incorporate percussion and vibes from hip-hop. Of course there's the Persian influence in my music but not every tune I do has to have a Persian melody. That would be boring, I'm too ADD to stick to one sound anyways.
There are upwards of 100k music blogs. What are some of the ones on your blog roll?
My favorite blog/website is Southern Hospitality, a UK blog that covers hip-hop. Another UK blog/magazine I follow is for sure factmag. This is my go-to for everything club/dance as far as the UK underground goes. I don't really try to look at the blogs because you risk listening to the same stuff as everyone else.
Biggest influences at the moment? Favorite up-and-comers?
Who do you predict is going to really explode in 2012, like Afrojack did last year and Avicii did this year?
The thing is...you can never never really predict who is going to "blow up." Two things I've noticed, whenever someone is touted as being the "next big thing" they never usually are. And people like Afrojack and Avicii back a couple of years ago were never publicized as "OMG THESE GUYS ARE GONNA BE HUGE." That kind of success is always unexpected to a certain degree. Sooo, I really can't say who is gonna be big next year.
Have you read the SPIN article about the "New Rave Generation"? What are your thoughts on the explosion of the EDM scene in the past few years? I did read that SPIN article. It's cool to see dance music get coverage like that, but it also worries me because this kind of coverage is a definite indicator that things are at the peaking level and things are only going to go downhill from here. I can already feel the backlash coming.
But at the same time, people have said the same thing about hip-hop and even rock n' roll. So maybe EDM is just becoming the standard form of music.
Sticky K currently has no upcoming plans to tour or play in Socal, so if you like what you hear, join me in bugging him toget down here and play @Sticky_K. Original Tracks by Sticky K
This New Year's Eve, a number of this year's most highly regarded electronic music acts will be heading to Dallas to headline the event, which has quickly become one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the country. Tiesto, Laidback Luke, Dada Life, Wolfgang Gartner, Benny Benassi and Porter Robinson round out the star-studded roster of "Lights All Night," a two-day event being held in Dallas on December 30th & 31st.
This year’s “Lights All Night” festival is set to be the biggest yet, with an explosive lineup that also includes: Sandro Silva, Diplo, Flux Pavilion, Excision, RJD2, Archnemesis, Crizzly, Big Gigantic, Bonobo, Paper Diamond, White Panda, Zoogma, Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, MSTRKRFT, Neon Indian, Pendulum, Caspa, Zeds Dead, The M Machine, Treasure Fingers, Kill The Noise, Savoy, Michal Menert, Nadis Warriors and Govinda.
The event will boast state-of-the-art production that is set to include a captivating light show, live dancers and a dynamic array of art installations. “Lights All Night” will showcase performances on three main stages, dubbed Dance Hall, Bass Hall and Groove Hall.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you're aware that Tiesto has been on his US College Invasion Tour for the past month and half, hitting some of the biggest party schools as well as popular suggestions from college kids on his facebook page. It culminates tomorrow night in what is being billed as the largest single DJ show in US history when 25,999 fans and I show up to the Home Depot Arena in LA to see the likes of Porter Robinson, Dada Life, and Diplo as well as the god himself, Tiesto.
Continue past the jump for some huge jams from these artists to bump in your pregame, as well as some bangers that have been showing up in their recent mixes.
PS I have heard that in an interview with Ryan Seacrest (of all people!) Tiesto said the show will be going to 1 AM. Take that with a grain of salt and still plan to have banging afterparties

Dallas, the wait is over. The countdown to the Electric Daisy Carnival has finally faded into oblivion, the clock has struck zero and the chaos is upon us. In preparation for this festive night I've sorted out a few goodies of the elite artists that I would be sure not to miss this evening. Get yo game face on EDM lovers, this is the soundtrack to our lives & it only happens once a year! - on a side note, Axwell better rock the fuck out of his set after canceling on us back in February due to 'snowy' weather. Cheers n' see you out there!
New idea presented by HARD festival masterminds...a music festival on a cruise ship? Yipyip, this shit looks like it could be ridiculous and the timing is ideal, just after the new year while most are still relaxing on vacation. Oh, did I forget to mention a massive lineup? Check it out below. Tickets available starting June 15.
Attempted to see Diplo at a lowkey venue last week in Santa Monica for a Maddecent event party...of course, it didn't work out. However, while I was RSVP'ing to the show, I was sent a spankin' new & badass track by the generous label. The track is produced by, get this, both Afrojack & Diplo and includes a verse by Lil Weezy! Took a few listens to really grow on me, but now I can't stop. Not much more to say other than the mashup done by sir White Panda is also off the chain.. Cheeyaz players.
