USA’s premiere festival producers, Insomniac Events have finally released the highly anticipated line-up including more than 100 international artists, performers, and theatrical groups including the world renowned Blue Man Group at this year’s 16th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival. World-class electronic acts from across the globe will gather at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway June 8-10, 2012, for the return of North America’s largest electronic music festival.

“Last year’s introduction to Las Vegas was a remarkable event for Insomniac, gathering more than 230,000 people in the desert for an exciting new chapter in Electric Daisy Carnival history,” said Pasquale Rotella, founder and CEO of Insomniac Events. “As dance music continues to explode on a global scale, we’ll continue to push the boundaries of what makes Insomniac unique: a fully immersive festival experience that features hundreds of theatrical performers, interactive art installations, pyrotechnics and special effects, state of the art production, not to mention the largest stage in North America. I’m excited to share what we’ve been developing since last year’s show with our incredible fans.”

European hardstyle powerhouse, Q-dance, will be bridging the gap between the two continents providing fans in Las Vegas with the Dutch company’s first ever debut in the United States. Adding a seventh stage, Insomniac and Q-dance have come together to bring the harder styles of dance music to EDC attendees for three full nights. You can check out the Q-dance trailer HERE.

NY Times: Electronic Dance Concerts Turn Up Volume, Tempting Investors

NYTimes.com posted a great article on the growth of investment opportunities surrounding electro concerts. If you're as interested as we are in this growing movement check out the full article here [ARTICLE]

Excerpt:

One Friday afternoon last month, 60,000 tickets at $100 and up went on sale for a major music festival at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., before the headliners had even been announced.

It sold out in three hours.

The festival with the fervent following was the Electric Daisy Carnival, a two-day event next month dedicated to the concert industry’s new favorite genre: electronic dance music. Long considered a marginal part of the music business that subsisted in clubs and semi-legal warehouse raves, dance has now moved squarely into the mainstream, with a growing circuit of festivals and profit margins that are attracting Wall Street.

For an industry increasingly reliant on aging headliners — like Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and the Rolling Stones — the appeal of a genre with fresh stars and a huge young audience is undeniable.

“If you’re 15 to 25 years old now, this is your rock ‘n’ roll,” said Michael Rapino, the chief executive of Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s largest concert promoter.

EDC 2012 returns to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on June 8th, 9th, and 10th!

One of my favorite producers and 100% atop my list for this weekend, the 23 year old Dutchman has been producing and DJing since he was 13 and it shows in every way possible. First discovered by Tiesto, Hardwell's been absolutely killing the game with no shortage of original tracks, remixes, and bootlegs, including his ever famous bootleg of Steve Angello's "Be" and Robin S' "Show Me Love". This weekend will actually be his first time hitting the decks in the US and A, as he'll be hitting both East and West coast spots. It was actually pretty difficult deciding which tracks to post so here's a whole pack for your ears. See you Saturday 11 PM-12 AM at the Neon Garden, Mr. Van De Corput!

Oh and if you're skipping out on Vegas and will be in the LA area this weekend, Hardwell will be taking over the Avalon this Friday at Control alongside none other than Stefan Englom and Olle Corneér, better known as Dada Life. Sure to be one hell of a show, catch your tix here.

The kid is only 18 years old, but with support from big name artists such as Avicii, Guetta, and Erick Morillo he's already gained recognition worldwide and will be playing twice on two different stages this weekend. Ever since I first heard his remix of Nadia Ali's "Pressure," I've been hooked onto his tracks. Check out at least one of his sets, either Saturday at Cosmic Meadow from 8-9 PM or the mainstage Kinetic Field 12:30-1 AM Sunday. If you have any doubts check out all the tracks below, each one will convince you further and further.

Switching it up a lil bit, this weekend in Vegas also features some of the best trance artists from around the world, including the German born Cosmic Gate. The duo that brought us one of the all-time classics "Exploration Of Space," Claus Terhoeven (aka Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (DJ Bossi) always put on an epic show and yes, I know this dude named Tiesto is spinning at the same time but check out Cosmic from 12-1:15 AM at the Circuit Grounds, I promise you won't be disappointed.

With the recent happenings at EDC Dallas, EDM lovers and rave goers begin to look forward to the massive of all EDC massives - EDC Las Vegas, taking place this upcoming weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With the expected crowds, one can only wonder what insanity will ensue and hope that no youngsters ruin the show. It's EDC Week according to Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, so I'm gonna make it the same here at DxE with a daily rundown of artists I'm most looking forward to seeing. Kicking it off with the young Dutchman Nicky Romero, whose style I've grown to love more and more with each one of his jams. Can't wait to catch him closing out the entire weekend on Sunday 4:30-6 AM at the Kinetic Field.
PS. Nicky will be throwing down a pre-EDC set this Monday at Playhouse in Hollywood with special guest Justin Michael. Check out the flyer to the right and get your tix here

1 Death Confirmed… EDC Dallas Shut Down

via DallasNews.comUPDATE: The Dallas County Medical Examiner says the person who died was 19-year-old Andrew James Graf or Argyle. Dallas Fire-Rescue originally said the deceased was a 15-year-old boy, but that appears to be an error on their part.

A 15-year-old  19 year old died and more than two dozen others who were at the Electric Daisy Carnival at Fair Park were hospitalized because of drugs, alcohol and heat-related health problems, authorities said.
No information was immediately available on what may have caused the death of the teen boy who was at the rave, which gained notoriety after the death of a teen girl at the same event in Los Angeles last year.
In addition to the Saturday death, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said "Approximately 25-30 people were taken to local hospitals with a multitude of emergencies related to either drug or alcohol use and even heat related issues."
Authorities described a chaotic scene at Fair Park that began with calls for paramedics about 9 p.m. and ended early this morning.
"At one time there were at least 10 different rescue units responding to the event at once, with a number of Emergency Medical Services Supervisors and engine companies for manpower," Evans said. "The chaos finally came to a rapid stop when someone pulled a fire alarm around 1:30 a.m. and sent those that remained scattering."
