ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL Announces Complete Phase 1 Line-Up with Additions!!

New Year’s weekend saw the much-anticipated Phase 1 Lineup of Ultra Music Festival’s Miami showdown make its way around the World Wide Web like wildfire after Avicii leaked the lineup online. If there was ever an excuse to slap ‘viral’ on an announcement then this was it! One week after the Internet frenzy, and the world’s premier electronic dance music festival can now confirm artists that will be performing throughout the 6-day/2-weekend marathon of sound, light and dance. Over the weekends of March 15-17 and March 22-24, Downtown Miami plays host to the event’s 15th year with an unparalleled bill of the best DJs, live acts and future talent this planet has to offer.

The world is already aware that this year’s edition of the iconic festival will mark the final curtain for Swedish House Mafia, who’ve chosen Ultra Music Festival as the ‘One Last Tour’ finale to end where it once began (Ultra Music Festival at Bicentennial Park in 2010).  Expect an unforgettable performance created specially for Ultra Music Festival by deadmau5, one of the industry’s most in-demand talents who returns to close out both Saturday nights.  Luminaries who have aided in shaping the movement make appearances across BOTH weekends include Tiësto, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Avicii as well as (in alphabetical order): Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Kaskade, Knife Party and Richie Hawtin. Of course, Ultra Music Festival wouldn’t be complete without the essential Carl Cox & Friends Arena, which has been announced in addition to Armin van Buuren’s (the world’s #1 DJ) A State Of Trance 600 Arena.  Mixmag—the world’s indispensible clubbing bible—will also slam into the sunshine with an area of their own and who can forget the #1 club in the world, Space Ibiza, bringing Phase 1 of Ultra’s 15th Anniversary to close with the return of their own Space Ibiza Arena.

It is not only the cosmic DJ talent that ensures Ultra Music Festival’s growth year after year, it’s also the LIVE elements that entice thousands of revelers to the Festival’s sun-kissed terrain.   This year, and again in alphabetical order, live performances includes: The Bloody Beetroots, Booka Shade, Boys Noize, Crystal Castles, Disclosure, DJ Fresh Live, Hot Chip, Major Lazer, Matt & Kim, Modestep, Rudimental, Thievery Corporation, and Yeasayer. All acts are confirmed to make appearances; some returning after more than a year’s absence and some making grand debuts, thus proving the forward-thinking and finger-on-the-pulse nature of Ultra’s festival organizers.  These lineups showcase Ultra’s ability to consistently deliver on talent, both fresh and established!

The complete Phase 1 line-up for the 15 Annual ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL is:

DJs:
Above & Beyond
Afrojack
Armin Van Buuren
Avicii

With all this in mind, let’s not forget this is only Phase 1 of a complete line-up of what is surely to go down as one of ULTRA’s greatest line-ups ever! Building on the excitement is the newest piece of viral content for UMF TV, the video, created and directed by Final Kid’s Charly Friedrichs, director of the ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL experience film “CAN U FEEL IT.” Get ready for a no holds barred indulgence!

Late Night Alumni-In The Ashes (Beach Life Kings Remix)

Late Night Alumni Beach Life Kings Remix

The Beach Life Kings released their new progressive house remix of Late Night Alumni's In The Ashes. Recognize the beautiful vocals from somewhere but cant place it? Thats because Kaskade is one of the lead members of the band. This mix is moody and great for throwing on for those mellow moments in life.

Be sure to download it off the soundcloud below or here.

Kaskade – Llove (Dada Life Remix)

The wild Dada boys are at it again. They have finally released the mastered version of a monster track they have been playing in their sets for some time now. Their most recent conquest finds them taking on Kaskade's undeniably gorgeous Llove. There is a reason Kaskade keeps using Haley for her vocals, and it is because they are freaking perfect. Unfortunately, this remix does not really capture the feel that comes along with her voice, or even the tone of the original song, but it is an absolute beast of a track nonetheless. Hit me up in the comments, I'm curious what the rest of the blogosphere thinks of this one.

Buy it on Beatport now, or snag the rip from Coachella below.

Kaskade has just released the fourth installment of his Freaks of Nature Tour. This video covers shows and behind the scenes footage everywhere from Park City to Los Angeles.

Kaskade & Skrillex – Lick It (Official Music Video)

The brand new official video for Kaskade and Skrillex’s juggernaut collaboration “Lick It”, released back in October 2011, is finally upon us! Complete with a hefty remix package (out now on Ultra Records) from some of the biggest-hitters to match, Kaskade continues to demonstrate his A&R excellence and prowess as he breathes fresh life into an already exquisite release.
Taken from Kaskade’s critically acclaimed long player ‘Fire & Ice’, “Lick It” serves up a growling slice of electro-infused Skrillex gold, with the strongest sense of musicality and melody that underpins each and every Kaskade production – a stunning record from two of the most in-demand producers on the planet. Ryan explained:
Collaborating with Skrillex for the track and video of ‘Lick It’ was one of the more unique opportunities I had when recording Fire & Ice,” said Kaskade.  “Skrillex and I have different styles but that is part of what made it fun.  I like doing the unexpected and this track and video is something truly distinctive.”
The ever eclectic three-track remix package, featuring unique re-licks from rising dubstep star Datsik, French house maestro Norman Doray and Italy’s very own Alex Kenji is available to buy now from iTunes.
Donned by The New York Times as the “new face of electronic dance music,” Kaskade recently wowed the EDM world with his brand new stage set up at California’s legendary Coachella festival, headlining the iconic Sahara tent on Saturday night to a truly immense reception. Continuing from this he’s just announced that this summer he’ll be taking on his biggest ever tour, with more than 50 North American shows across venues of all sizes; from ballrooms and theatres to arenas and festivals.  The initial 35 dates announced for the “Freaks of Nature” Summer 2012 Tour will begin on May 25!
With other recent news that he will be performing at the globally-renowned Lollapalooza fest in August at Grant Park in Chicago and a handful of high profile European tour dates, 2012 is shaping up to be quite the year for Ryan.

Coachella weekend numero uno was a raging success, as the masses moved to the music safely. People from all over the globe travelled down to palm springs CA to attend what is sure to be one the best 3 days of 2012; why can't all festivals be like this?

Since not everyone was able to attend, I've got 2 of the top sets from the weekend by 2 of the biggest names that spun for the crowds: Kaskade & Swedish House Mafia. The only downside to either of their sets was that it was 45 degrees with heavy wind and rain for SHM's performance, but you can't hear that through your speakers. So enjoy these two for now, and be on the look out for my personal favorites of the weekend that, if I can find copies of, will shared shortly. Cheers

Sending My Love by R3hab & Swanky Tunes is one of the biggest anthems in EDM this year. Max C's vocals are exciting - some of the best DJs out there seem to agree - and now we have some GREAT remixes out there! I always like to choose which one is the "best"... but I just can't make up my mind. Trust me though, even if you think the original is good, this remixes won't disappoint:

Sending My Love (Afrojack Edit)
Sending My Love (Cazzette's Already Super Human Remix)
Sending My Love (Hard Rock Sofa Remix)

Eyes Remixes

Hey all, my deepest apologies for missing this past week's editions of SSP and The Daze -- I was in Sin City celebrating my birthday and barely found the time to sit down. As opposed to throwing em up now, I promise you an abundance of bangers and mashups this week to make up for it. Starting it off right here right now with a brand new pack of remixes of one of my favorite tracks from Kaskade's "Fire & Ice" album, "Eyes." My friends and I had the pleasure of not only seeing R3hab throw down at XS on Sunday night, but also heard him drop his remix of it before it was even released. Swanky Tunes go super ravey with it, but I think my favorite of em all is Alvin Risk's whose sound has reaaaally grown on me over the past couple months. Also throwing in the original and ICE mix off the album, as well as a dope mashup of the track with Arty's "Kate." Enjoy.

What time is it?! Well other than being 8:25 (on the west coast, best coast at least), it's that time of the week for mashups again and this week's pack is just bursting with eargasms. The newest of new from Kaskade and his Music Mondays, a Tujamo bootleg that literally comes out of nowhere to rape your ears, and a killer mashup by two of the coolest dudes we have the pleasure of calling our friends, the new Hollywood experience takeover duo Sex Panther. Even though the week's just begun, the countdown till the weekend has already started. Enjoy amigos y amigas.

Yet another Monday rolls through, which can only mean there are more mashups to share with everyone. This week's volume includes a bunch of new tracks that have blown up over the past couple of months, mixed and mashed with lyrics and tracks you might never even think would go with em. Hope this helps get your week started right, cheers.

GOOD FEELING and HAPPY VIOLENCE Remixes!

You know that girl that you've heard in that Avicii song (I think it's called "Levels" or something... have you heard it???) that sings about her "Good Feeling?' That's Etta James, the famous soul singer, in the early 1960s. Or you might have heard Pretty Lights sample it a few years ago. Or most recently, in Flo Rida's new song. And now we have even more songs with Etta's soulful voice because of all these remixes - heads up, they are all pretty good... but the Sick Individuals remix would get any crowd going crazy!

Dada Life's "Happy Violence" has gotten a lot of remix attention too - Kaskade giving it a house feel, and Caveat and Uppermost making it dirty electro, but Swanky Tunes is definitely my favorite - taking that high-pitched Dada sound to a new level.

Recover time after one hell of a halloweekend. Pics and reviews of both the Mau5 and Escape epicness coming in the new few days so look out for yourselves if you were part of the madness. It's bootleg week for this newest Volume of The Daze. Happy halloween to everyone, hopefully you've all left a little in the tank for one last day n night of celebrating.

Kaskade – Fire and Ice

Yesterday, Kaskade released exclusively on itunes his new album "Fire & Ice", and I must say that he just keeps getting better and better! For this album, Kaskade created two different mixes for 10 new original tracks: the fire mix, and the ice mix. While the Ice mixes are more mellow and reminiscent of Kaskade's original style, the Fire mixes are all bangers, and are sure to be heard in clubs and festivals all around the world. In addition, Kaskade brings us some great collaborations with artists such as Dada Life, Skrillex, Skylar Grey, and of course the beautiful Haley. I've been playing this album on repeat for the last 24hrs , and I'm sure you will love this album as much as I do. To get you started, here are a couple of my favorite tracks on the album:

Kaskade - Turn it Down
Kaskade & Skrillex - Lick it
Kaskade & Dada Life - ICE
Support the artist and buy the album on Itunes. Its only 10$ for 20 tracks, I promise it's worth the buy:

For those who joined us over at Supperclub on Thursday night, thanks and we hope you had just a crazy of a night as we did. For those who didn't well.... that sucks, you really missed out but at least we'll get the pics and interview up for you soon. As for this week's SSP, in case the pic up top didn't tell you it's all about the remixes - each a new rendition of a previous classic we've all come to love. Always great hearing that track we all know, but even better when it drops into something we'd never expect. So enjoy, and stay thirsty ladies and gents.

We all love hearing the classics but adding different lyrics or a new feel just takes it to the next level. Turn It Down

Fresh off headlining the Identity Festival Tour and being crowned as North America's top DJ of the year, Kaskade hits us with a spanking new single, 'Turn It Down'. As always in true house-like fashion, he has incorporated beautiful vocals by Rebecca & Fiona in what, to me, is his best release since he first caught my attention with 'Dynasty' several years ago. I known this track was featured on our latest saturday six pack post, however, I thought it was so niiice I'd post it twice, so have a listen and contrary to the title, turn it way up!!
Bonus: For a little something extra, here's a great mashup by Felguk that I've had in my pocket for quite sometime now. Definitely a major tune, mixing three of my favorite tracks of the year into one massive song: Felguk - Side By Side (Original Mix), Skrillex - Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites (Original Mix), Dada Life - Unleash The F***ing Dada (Dirtyloud Remix).
