THUMP is a strategically designed premier platform for a wide array of partnership opportunities, artists and brands to reach audiences in new and compelling ways. The channel debuts with The Arrival, a new series celebrating the journeys of some of THUMP's favorite DJs and producers, from their first connection with electronic music to arriving to perform on the world's biggest stages. Produced with assistance from THUMP launch partner Heineken and the new Star Bottle, The Arrival features names from across the electronic music sphere, from Claude VonStroke to Just Blaze, 12th Planet, and DJ Craze.

THUMP will debut high-quality franchises, original documentaries, new music videos, and exclusive insights from a broad spectrum of electronic dance music artists including Dada Life, Richie Hawtin, Baauer, Bingo Players, Above and Beyond, Pretty Lights, Ali Love, Tiga, Kevin Saunderson, Tommy Trash, Clockwork, 2 Bears, DJ Shadow, Araabmuzik, Claude VonStroke, Kill The Noise and more, while empowering artists to create and develop new projects for a rapidly growing audience.

We are thrilled to partner with VICE to launch a creative and collaborative platform with massive reach for artists across the board within the electronic music community,” said Josh Neuman, co-CEO of Recreation Worldwide.

MUSIC VIDEOS

THUMP will be the home to the music video premiers from the biggest stars to emerging artist across the broad spectrum of dance music. Launch videos will include Tommy Trash, Pretty Lights, Clockwork, Ali Love, with many more to come, from both the biggest names and exciting up-and-comers alike.

EXCLUSIVE ARTIST CONTENT

THUMP is home to the best and most exclusive artist content, including taking fans on tour with their favorite artists, behind the scenes looks at the creative process, and the creation of cutting edge live production.  Kicking off with the full length documentary 'Seven Days in Dada Land', in which Dada Life take a fan on the road for one week of the Dada Land Tour, filming everything that transpired on and off-stage and telling the bizarre story of what happened.

DANCES AND DON’TS

You either have it or you don’t.  Through THUMP's lens, we capture the stars and the rhythmically challenged alike standing out in dance culture worldwide.

SUB.Culture

Each week, THUMP explores the warehouses, lofts, and DIY underground scenes, beginning with a four-part look into Brooklyn’s thriving underground.

WHAT IS ______ ANYWAY?

Each week our host loiters outside different nightclubs, underground parties, and music festivals, asking club-goers to describe what they just heard.  THUMP deconstructs everything from genres like house, techno, and trap, to the more obscure witch house.

OTHERWORLD

Partying out of bounds, THUMP takes viewers on an immersive experience through far flung locations pushing the boundaries of the live event experience. Otherworld's first episode, The Apocalypse, brings us to Playa Del Carmen for the Day Zero, celebrating the prophesied Mayan end of days.

THE TEASE

THUMP pairs never before heard tracks with beautiful men and women doing weird activities in weird settings.

Fresh off of his epic live set at Coachella, PRETTY LIGHTS (also known as Derek Vincent Smith) has just announced that he will finally be releasing a new album this year! A Color Map Of The Sun is set to drop on 2 July and will feature no outside samples. Says Smith:

It has been 2 years, 5 months and 24 days since I last released a record. I am properly delighted to announce the release of my new full-length album “A Color Map of the Sun.” I began work on this album/project/experiment in February of 2011 and spent a year creating my own vinyl collection of everything I needed to produce the album I heard in my head. I spent the next year producing songs with homemade vinyl samples and a big crazy analog synth I built just for this album. It is truly Analog Electronica. It’s soulful electro hip-hop that went back in time to learn from the life of its smooth ass grandparents. -Derek Vincent Smith

This will be Smith's fourth full-length album and will be available for free download on Smith's website prettylightsmusic.com. The first single, "Around the Block," features Talib Kweli and is available for free download now! I can't wait to hear the rest of the album; Smith never disappoints. Be sure to like Pretty Lights on Facebook to stay in the know.

As always, happy listening! A xx

12th Planet ‘The End Is Near’ Tour Mini-Documentary + FALL TOUR DATES

12th Planet is blasting through 2012, which started off with a North American tour to celebrate the release of his 'The End Is Near!" EP. To top it off, 12th Planet "Reasons" (Doctor P Remix) was named one of the '30 Greatest Dubstep Songs of All Time" by SPIN Magazine -- after all, "nothing set the tone for domestic bass culture quite like this Planet's orbit," says SPIN. This fall, the American Dubstep King continues his reign with tours that storm through North America (in support of Dada Life and Pretty Lights), as well as his first headlining tour in Asia.

12th Planet has also just re-launched his website, www.12thPlanet2012.com, in a joint venture partnership with ElectroStub and Church of Merch, with plans to integrate ticketing solutions and merchandise with tools to better connect and serve his fans. By self-distributing his own merchandise, show tickets and downloads, this acclaimed DJ is joining the ranks of many forward-thinking pioneers in the entertainment space who understand the importance of owning their own data and keeping service fees low for fans.

Identity Dallas Roundup

-Started the night off at the Dim Mak Stage for Steve Aoki's set. Displaying a spanking new stage set up and production show, sir Steve stunned the crowd for what was perhaps the most electrifying performance of the evening. He dropped 3 new tracks during his roughly hour long set: Earthquaky People (ft. Rivers Cuomo from Weezer), Misfits (ft. Travis Parker), and one unknown track in which he sang - topped off w the can't-be-missed, always fun Warp 1.9 & his usual bottle popping act, Aoki had the crowd raging full force in the 100+ degree temperatures. As the sun began to set, I needed a break from the mayhem and headed over to grab a drink, seeking a change of pace from the heavy-hitting electro style.
-After having my face properly rocked off and dancing up a storm and cooling down w an ice cold beverage, I was ready to head over to see Doorly [left] for some wompy headbanging, who was playing with surprise guest Nervo [right]. Doorly has really made a name for himself over the past few years and is climbing up the charts in the Dubstep category, and after seeing him live for the first time, I must say that he really has asserted himself as a top-notch act - Nervo & him as a pair turned out to be a match made in heaven, a beautiful blend of dub elements and international house sound. Perhaps the coolest part of their set was the fact that there was virtually no one at the stage for the beginning of it, being accustomed to performing in front of massive crowds around the world to counting on your fingers the number of people watching is definitely an adjustment. However, the two of them welcomed us with a fantastic and extremely interactive, nearly private show, taking some time to talk with their fans. Great people, unfortunately Nervo wouldn't accommodate my request to hear her new collaboration with Afrojack and others, 'The Way We See The World'. Alas, another time...
-Lastly, I moseyed on over to the main stage to see Pretty Lights. This marks the 6th time that I've seen the Boulder-bred artist do his thing, and I can truly say that each time has signaled a clear progression of both stage presence & quality of sound integration with production techniques; a.k.a Pretty Lights has evolved into melodic machine, who effortlessly controls the crowd & awes you with his ridiculous light show. He keeps you entranced with slower classics such as 'Hot Like Sauce', and picks it up at the right moments, reminding you that leaving early is simply not an option when he's in front of an audience.
-All in all Identity Festival was a huge success and definitely a bargain for a mere 20 dollar ticket. Despite the crazy Texas heat, thousands of loyal fans continued to pack stages from opening to close in order to catch some of the best artists in the industry for what was a fun-filled and most importantly safe day - a smashing hit for the first nation-wide touring electronic festival ever!
