New Years Eve?!

There is a lot of chaos surrounding NYE in Los Angeles: Insomniac is slowly releasing plans for their WHITE WONDERLAND. From what our staff has gathered, they seem to have swiped BENNY BENASSI and DADA LIFE from a show that was supposed to take place at the Shrine and produced by Giant. Or maybe it was some sort of team-up... you never know what Insomniac has up their miraculously decorated sleeve. I'm sure it won't disappoint... by the way, a little birdie told us it is going to be a 2-day event and that the dress code is "all white, only white."

So might I make a suggestion? Check out this cool event happening in Pleasanton, CA - very close to San Francisco. I've been to the town before and I'm sure they don't know what's coming their way, as they are hosting what is apparently the largest electronic dance event in Nor Cal on New Years. So fuck it, I'm going. Now, wait 'til you hear this line-up: COSMIC GATE, SHOWTEK, SIDNEY SAMSON, DIPLO, WIPPENBERG, and SPACE ROCKERZ. And did I mention it's actually affordable for a memorable New Years?

Saturday Six Pack #14

Awesome night last night with Wolfgang Gartner taking over the Music Box in Hollywood or, as a very close friend put it - "a night to remember." Playing almost all of his classics and introducing much of those in attendance to the tracks off his new album "Weekend In America," Joey had the crowd going from beginning to end. I'm just jealous of those who are going tonight with the treat of Tommy Trash opening for him. Anyways, another 6 pack coming your way. The pic up top in honor and in anticipation of Kaskade's newest album "Fire and Ice" ready to hit iTunes in a cool 3 days. All bangers per the usual and even though I rarely post any durty dutch, had to throw in the newest Sidney Samson track cuz I just can't get that sample out of my head... I started this dutch house shit, is this the muthafuckin' thanks I get?

With the recent happenings at EDC Dallas, EDM lovers and rave goers begin to look forward to the massive of all EDC massives - EDC Las Vegas, taking place this upcoming weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With the expected crowds, one can only wonder what insanity will ensue and hope that no youngsters ruin the show. It's EDC Week according to Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, so I'm gonna make it the same here at DxE with a daily rundown of artists I'm most looking forward to seeing. Kicking it off with the young Dutchman Nicky Romero, whose style I've grown to love more and more with each one of his jams. Can't wait to catch him closing out the entire weekend on Sunday 4:30-6 AM at the Kinetic Field.
PS. Nicky will be throwing down a pre-EDC set this Monday at Playhouse in Hollywood with special guest Justin Michael. Check out the flyer to the right and get your tix here

Bundle o’ Aoki

The founder of and driving force behind Dim Mak Records, sir Steve Aoki, has not received proper recognition for his invaluable contribution to the evolution of electronic music over the last decade. Put simply, the man has an eye [or ear?] for talent; like the Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT, Crookers, Mustard Pimp? Thank SteveO here for bringing their sounds, as well as many others, to the states. Aoki's always hard at work and always having a great time, captivating live audiences with a take no prisoners rock-n-roll attitude that has brilliantly blended into the electro-house genre. Here's some goodies to add to your collection of bangers - whatever you decide, don't pass up on his remix of Duran Duran - Cheers

Her Majesty & The Wolves

Her Majesty & The Wolves have begun their climb to the top of their game with a single (Releasing Jan 10th), "Stars In Your Eyes." Spencer Nezey (formally of Jupiter Rising) and Kimberly Wyatt (of the Pussy Cat Dolls) have teamed up to create an electro-pop take over. They bridge the gap between contemporary electro music and pop icon through their original style and energy. We all await their live performances which Kimberly described as "A bigger than life, post-modern fairytale of pop music. It’s theatrical and lends itself to amazing live shows, but it also has a DJ world element twisted into it. It’s huge in my imagination!” which seems to be becoming true as they have teamed up with DJ group, LABD to conduct their live performances. Recently, Sidney Samson dropped a remix of "Stars In Your Eyes" which utilizes the dirty dutch horn synth in a way that is entirely new to electro acompanied by a deep mix of house. It drops so hard, you'll know exactly when to get wild. Next up is "Glaciers", another single off the upcoming album which has a quintecential house beat which drops into an epic break down that takes over your ears and shows off Kimberly's amazing vocals.

Here are the first batch of remixes, stay tuned for the Album and Single releases.
