Tommy Trash Vs. The Aston Shuffle – Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost) (Spaveech TRAP Remix)

This is the newest remix from one of my current favorites, Spaveech. Here, he gives us his take on the Tommy Trash Vs. Aston Shuffle banger, Sunrise (Won't Get Lost). While I absolutely loved the original, this version slows everything way down, and gives it a completely new dynamic. The infusion of other tracks throughout creates a surreal world that the listener gets to float idly through, while the different soundscape's act as a guide. The syths are ethereal, the bass is crunchy, and the flow is epic. What more could you really want?

The video shows images of Justice as punk rock pooches, a fabulous canine Bassnectar, a hip-hop hound as 2 Chainz, a dapper doggy Gesaffelstein and of course the pup duo of Dog Blood, plus more. Watch the HARD SUMMER 2013 official trailer here:

Directed by Agata Alexander, whose credits include past work with Marilyn Manson, Black Light Burns, Five Finger Death Punch, Clint Mansell and many more, the HARD SUMMER 2013 official trailer was shot in Los Angeles and features over 25 dogs. “Skrillex always calls his friends ‘dogs’ on Twitter,” explains Alexander about the idea behind the video. “I figured it would be cool to take it literally. Many of these acts have signature looks so I thought it would be fun to adapt those traits into the canine world. When Dog Blood came along, it was just too perfect to ignore.”

HARD SUMMER will also serve as the only U.S. stop of the Ed Banger 10-Year Anniversary Tour with the Ed Banger 10th Anniversary Stage featuring Justice (DJ set), Breakbot Live, BUSY.P Ed Banger Megamix, Feadz, Mr. Oizo, So Me and special guest Brodinski. Since launching in 2008, HARD SUMMER has become the largest ticketed music festival in the city of Los Angeles, expanding as a two-day event last year for the first time in the festival’s 6-year history. In 2012, the festival drew over 50,000 party goers to downtown Los Angeles for high-octane performances from the likes of Skrillex, Bloc Party, Miike Snow (Live), Boys Noize, Bloody Beetroots (DJ set), NERO (Live), Magnetic Man, Squarepusher, James Murphy, Little Dragon and many more.

Tickets for HARD SUMMER are available now at www.hardsummer.com.

MUSIC MONDAY WRAP UP

Good afternoon folks and Happy Music Monday! With the heat finally hitting the west coast in full-flex , the summer EDM bangers have begun to pour in. Let's start things off with  French prodigy, Madeon...He played two shows last night at the Wavehouse in San Diego and at the Yost Theatre in Orange County. Not only that, his new track, "Finale" also released yesterday. His monstrous releases and performances at EDC NY and Ultra are clearly the stepping stones that mark him down to be one of the next big producers of our generation. His nu-disco style combined with drum n bass have audiences grooving all night."Finale" is a track that is  relatively slower-paced  with some thumping drum work and powerful vocals showing how Madeon's production have matured in a limited span of time. Check it.

Next up...Tommy Trash's latest collaboration with German Electro House duo, Digitalism. "Falling" starts out with a heavy electro feel but gradually tones down into melodic synths. Trash's version provides his signature electro beats while leveling it up with the original sound.

Over the past year, many trance producers/djs have begun to incorporate electro house and dubstep beats in their music. Legendary Dutch producers, 4 Strings incorporate this Nu-Trance style in "The Other Side". The track progresses from fast deep electro into melodic piano synths  that provide the big room house feeling.

4 Strings - The Other Side (Original Mix).mp3.

With the release of Zedd's "Spectrum" EP nearly a week away, he reveals the all-star lineup of DJ's that will be featured. Armin Van Buuren kicked things off when he played his remix on ASOT a couple of weeks ago. Next, Arty and Deniz Koyu provided their takes and now A-Trak, Clockwork, Gregory Klosman and Tristan Garner have all joined in on the list of collaborators. Nicky Romero has had a busy year with touring extensively and  producing bangers after bangers collaborates with Zedd in "Human" and completes this dynamic EP. Available on Beatport July 31st.

And finally...today's biggest story. I woke up this morning and while I was browsing through my newsfeed on Facebook, I came across this wonderful article in Rollingstone. German producer Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize is BACK! The Hard Summer headliner has finally announced the October 2nd release of his third studio album-Out of the Black on his record label. The album's opening track "What you want" has the ""raw and rough sound" of his early music combining his signature robot vocal samples with old-school hip-hop beats, according to Ridha himself. Check the track and his entire interview with RollingStone right here.

Energy 2012 – The Album

Energy 2012 - The Album

Now established as the first key tent-pole event of the new EDM year, ID&T's Energy is clued-up clubbers first encounter with the sound-designs that Europe's electronic dance top-tier are going to be sending their way throughout the coming year. The best of the world's top-tier producers. The most cutting-edge remixologists. The newest, hottest studio stars of tomorrow. They're all gathered, they're all here... for Energy 2012 - The ALBUM!

Before WMC, before UMF, before the White Isle or the summer month's festivalism, right here is where the starting gun sounds! The titanic Utrecht-based Energy event is the launch pad for each new beats/bass/synth-packed EMD year,

With their finely-tuned lone-range radars scanning studios near daily, ID&T & High Contrast sign the tracks that capture the essence of the event straight off the mixing desks. Their track-packed 2012 edition has sourced music from heavyweight operators like Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand, John Dahlback, Marco V, and Marcel Woods, as well as nu-skool heroes including Hardwell, Dada Life, Jochen Miller, Chris Lake, and Funkagenda. It also selects white-hot sonics from the prospecting superstars of tomorrow, Nicky Romero, Deniz Koyu, Manuel De La Mare being just three.

Every event of standing requires an official anthem and every mix-comp needs a big kick-off. This year Energy's audio-emblem is served up by Hardwell, who following his runaway success over the last 12 months, springboards into 2012 with 'Cobra.' fulfilling all the requirements of the anthem mandate, it's a huge, bass-powered, squelch 'n' distort fest, topped by a wickedly infectious 'n' irresistible organ mainline. Continuing to mine a rich seam of music, it's followed by the marching drums of Denzal Parl's 'Militia,' Ted Nilsson's heart-pounder 'Runaway' and the big-room culture of Fedde Le Grand & Patric La Funk's 'Autosave' - all of which nitro-inject the mix. Hardcoding the event's dance-DNA, you'll also find Dahlback's high-wire tense 'Feel It,' 'Work Hard, Play Hard,' Tiesto's weekender-aimed anthem and Dada Life's deliciously looping (and loopy) 'Cookies With A Smile' all continue to flesh out the event's ethos.

From its outset fisc 2 sets about securing Energy's groove credentials and ensures those quotas are kept sky-high! Building more house rhythms into the mix are EDX'S 'D.A.N.C.E.', the warped bass of Chris Lake & Michael Woods' 'Domino's and the big piano drop moment of Jerome Isma-Ae and Daniel Portman's 'Flashing Lights.' The mix's midpoint lets loose the first-time collaboration of Marco V and Marcel Woods. The team behind 'Scream' team have watched a litany of DJs rally to their track's cause, turning it into one of 2012's first must-owns. As the disc reaches its conclusion, the nu-skool performs a takeover.

The electro-bounce of Joey Suki's 'Zomp,' Ostahnhof & Ugo Platana's 'Evensong' (in its drum-dramatic Michael Woods remix form) and the whooping uprush of Tim Mason album endgame 'Anima' collectively, conclusively seal Energy's audio-ideology.

Every bit your gateway to spring's arena season (and beyond), ID&T's 'Energy 2012 - The Album' is a future-perfect vision of the pulse-quickening floor anthems coming our way this year.

Forward thinking dance denizens, buckle up and get your clubbing shoes on! It's going to get a whole lot fiercer before it gets any calmer!

Tommy Trash & Sebastian Ingrosso – ID

Man o' man Sebastian Ingrosso has been on another level lately, from Swedish House and their upcoming release of the track 'Greyhound', to Alesso and their golden collaboration on 'Calling (Lose My Mind)', and finally to the kid who has stormed into the spotlight of the EDM scene in the last year, Tommy Trash. Trash produces heavy, hard-hitting electro that requires an elevated pulse to keep up with. The above unreleased track, which still needs an ID, was played by Tommy for his encore in Tallahassee, FL on 2.21.2012 & it definitely falls under the category of epic dancefloor mayhem. An absolute monster that will dominate sets around the globe for the coming year. No word on the full release yet but I can assure you that we will keep you updated when news comes our way. Until then, enjoy this clip that offers relative insight into the audaciously sexy collab from two of the best producers in the game. [The track starts at around 1:40 on the video and plays until its end.]

Congorock at the Yost Theater [Review]

I’ve been coming to the Yost Theatersince their first EDM show this past summer, an eardrum-assaultingperformance by Feed Me and it quickly joined theranks of my favorite Southern California venues.
I had heard about some upgrades put infor their NYE Benny Benassi show, and I am happy to report Yost has really steppedup their production values game. From the bass thumping out from below thedance floor to the upgraded DJ booth to the lasers painting an neonkaleidoscope through the air and on the walls and ceilings, and of course thebrand spanking new 8’ x 16’ LED wall behind the DJ booth, every little aspectmade the expanded main floor pulsate with dance hungry youth.
The opening DJs played abody-moving if predictable mix of songs, but the energy intensified tenfold when Congorock took the stage tothe angry riffs of Dada Life’s Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker. From therehe moved through a whirlwind of tunes, the horns in Deniz Koyu’s Tung! proving that it still has legsinto the new year after being one of the biggest summer anthems of 2011 anddropping the dance floor off a cliff with the dirty, dirty drops in his own Ivory and Sirius.

My highlight of the night came when he blended the Autoerotique remix of House Music into Wolfgang Gartner’s DJ mainstay Space Junk. After putting my drink downand sketching out a rough circle, I then proceeded to descend into a frenzy oflimbs and stuttering steps while the floor rumbled beneath me. Current bangers Toulouse and Shave It kept the crowd shuffling along, and he continued hisassault by ending his set with Antidote,Lionheart, the Alesso remix of Titanium and Babylon, which really somersaulted Congorock to the top of thescene.

I do wish there were morespotlights on the booth; I get far more into a set if I can read the intensityin the DJ's face and their facial expressions as they see the crowd reach tosongs. Other than that, I'm completely stoked for the upcoming artists Yost has linedup, including TommyTrash, whom I hadthe honor of partying with in his first visit to the states.
Some neon thoughts for you:Congorock - Ivory | Sirius | Babylon

Sending My Love Remixes

Sending My Love by R3hab & Swanky Tunes is one of the biggest anthems in EDM this year. Max C's vocals are exciting - some of the best DJs out there seem to agree - and now we have some GREAT remixes out there! I always like to choose which one is the "best"... but I just can't make up my mind. Trust me though, even if you think the original is good, this remixes won't disappoint:

Much like for the SSP, making it up to everyone for missing a week. Mash on mash on mash on mash-- mashes for days. And with finals coming up with this week for some and in the next coming weeks for the the rest, these are definitely coming at the most crucial of times. Good luck on those amigos.

Monkey See Monkey Do

I don't think any artist has had a bigger year than Tommy Trash. I was lucky enough to see him play his first US show at The Music Box in LA, opening for Wolfgang Gartner on 10/22. I was even luckier to be able to meet Tommy Trash backstage and after a little gushing (ok a lot), he invited us upstairs to a little backstage gathering. Tommy Trash is one of the nicest and most humble DJs I have had the pleasure to meet, seeming almost surprised I was such a big fan. He also knows how to party; he was personally DJing the room while we were taking Grey Goose handle pulls until 5AM.
The video below is Mr. Trash himself dunking that monkey above into a cup of pure vodka. Brilliant.

Every time I think to myself, there is no way he can have more releases up his sleeve, Tommy Trash keeps up his vicious release schedule. Seriously, I think he has more releases this year than most artists have unreleased versions they are still working on. Monkey See Monkey Do came out just a few days ago, and his remix of Shave It came out today. Super jelly of everyone who got to see Steve Angello drop it at Escape From Wonderland, but I somehow stumbled upon that video in the wee hours of the morning, so I wasn't too far behind.

Zedd - Shave It (Tommy Trash Remix) by tommytrash

Tommy Trash - Monkey See Monkey Do (Original Mix) by tommytrash

Rage past the jump for a small exclusive regarding where Tommy Trash is moving to next year.

Tommy Trash attempting to lick my face. Seriously.

I think I have a bit of awesome news when I tell you that I have heard it from the man himself that Tommy Trash is planning to move to LA in the early part of 2012, which I hope means that next year is going to be even bigger for Mr. Trash.
Of course there's more: his next remix was dropped by none other than Tiesto in Sao Paulo. Steve Forte Rio's Slumber is getting trashier. Look for it off of Tiesto's label Musical Freedom later this month (!!!)

One of the pioneers of the EDM world, Richard Melville Hall aka Moby has been all over the world highly regarded as one of the best of all time. His newest release "After" sounds much like most of his original tracks, a cool breezy feeling with some bomb ass vocals. But where this track really takes off is in the pack of remixes that came along with it. Each mix takes it to a whole new level, but in a completely different direction. Sorry if that doesn't really make sense... guess you'll just have to figure it out for yourself.

Mondays are always a daze, struggling to get the week started so figured we'd kick something new off for you to help get the ball rolling. Introducing what shall be known as "Mashup Mondaze," bringing you mashups from past, present, and future. We all love hearing the classics but adding different lyrics or a new feel just takes it to the next level. Starting off Week 1 with a pack of mashes featuring some of the most frequently featured artists on DxE. Oh, and of course had to throw in the freshest feature of Kaskade's Music Mondays as well. Hope this helps out along with that cup of coffee, enjoy.

Avicii 1.5 HOUR Live Recording

Just came across this gem of a youtube video. Tim Berg aka Avicii took over the House of Blues in Orlando last Wednesday for what was one hell of a set that we can now all experience as if we had been there. Dropping all the classics, newest bangers and, of course all of the mixes straight from Avicii himself. Most of the songs he dropped have already been up on DxE at one point or another but here's some you might still be missing from your iTunes. Cheers.
